I imagine in my mind, exactly how it should be. I picture all the details and exactly how each step should proceed.
I replay this in my mind, going over each move. And, I practice the physical motions until I know it and it becomes a part of me.
Athletes and performers know this works. The mental rehearsal combined with the physical practice make it so because each can direct and control their actions.
But, when you try to imagine the perfect moment, at home, or at work, it doesn't it work out. Why?
It doesn't work out for the same but opposite reason - you can't control the actions of others.
What you imagine in your mind, what you make-up, is not the same as what someone else imagines.
Someone else will see it differently and put his or her own spin on it.
Sometimes that enhances your vision. Other times it diminishes it. Or, it may be completely different to what you imagined.
You can't control it.
How this makes you feel is the result of the gap between what you think and imagine and how things really are.
What can you do about it?
Do everything you can to realize your vision and let go of any attachment to the outcome.
The former is up to you, the latter is out of your hands.
When you can do this - put your all into something without devotion to the outcome - you may discover a different kind of ease, relaxing into the arms of the universe.
And, who knows?
You may be surprised by what happens.
